HiÂ
I'm Oya, Â
UX Designer and Researcher from Toronto.
Say it in one word or a thousand? Do a little dance to grab attention or settle on a more subtle approach? As UX is grounded in the art of persuasion, it is important to understand which to use in order to effectively communicate the right message. Both internal and external audiences sometimes need an extra little push. That's where strong presentation skills come in to inform, educate, motivate and persuade. A few examples of my past and in-progress case studies are shown below. Â
These are partial presentations. For a full version of my case studies please contact me.
Worked in several projects focusing on enhancing user experience and modernizing legacy secure sites for extended health benefit clients. Collaborated within an agile team as the User Experience Designer.Â

In any project, research should be conducted from start to finish. Whether it be to better understand user behaviour, goals and needs or to workshop stakeholder expectations, research is the way to evidence-based design through the entire design thinking process.
One of the basics to research in my tool box is heuristic evaluation. It is a process using rules of thumb to measure the usability of user interfaces and report issues. See examples of my work on two such reports.
In my humble opinion, this image from NN Group beautifully encapsulates the critical stages of a project and the role UX plays in getting the product to the finish line. Â
My goal in any UX design project is to create a workflow starting with a strong problem statement and power my way through a user centered design thinking process to MVP and beyond.
